Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
The Lord of the Rings has been appealing to the taste of young and old for decades. It no doubt is the BEST classic novels I would have read. The imagination of JRR is such that he creates a whole new world of fantasy with elves, hobbits, humans and more creatures.
Some of the quotes that appears in the book are awe inspiring. This one is really good and a well timed too : Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden! Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter! spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
If the book enthralled the mass with its grappling texts, then the movie showcased the book's popularity. I like to watch the movie whenever the opportunity presents itself.
After reading the book I felt bored reading the usual Sheldon and Blyton craps. NO book would ever match the LOTR's mass appeal.
LOTR rocks.Labels: lord of the rings, lotr |
